Definition
A project to be completed by a team of students for the purpose of showing how said students have learned to reach a common goal by using teamwork while featuring each student’s individual strengths.
Scope
One ASP-database-driven ecommerce website to be used for the purpose of business-to-consumer selling.
Individual Contribution
My contributions to the project involved using the Gnu Image Manipulation Program to get product images ready for use in the database for the site. I was also part of the team entering information to the main database, as well as using HTML code to design static pages for site.

Professional Experience Summary
Accounting
- Assisted Accounts Payable Team to close financials each month and each year by processing invoices, partnering with 15 – 40 retail outlets to gather paperwork for closing statements.
- Partnered with over 100 company vendors along with my company’s retail locations in resolving unpaid invoices by communicating with a vendor representative in order to get the invoice paid through our retail locations.
- Earned Teller of the Month for 12 months straight and, as a result, became ineligible for the award.
- Balanced cash drawer every day with a nearly perfect record by balancing the actual drawer cash with a computer read out of transactions for each day. Amounts were roughly $15,000.
Operations
- Worked various companies, adapting to different data-entry computer programs and routines.
- Organized payables by categories relating to importance, so they could be paid by the due date, or at least as timely as possible to avoid consequences from vendors.
- Formed working relationships with many vendor representatives to facilitate easier resolution of problems.
- During software update, participated in advisory committee to MIS Department, making positive changes to system to maximize efficiency within Accounts Payable department, while interfacing with other departments.
- Headed “Fun Committee” which planned and executed annual picnic and award banquet, as well as other reward and stress-reducing activities occasionally.
- Participated in “Safety Committee” which reported to company president any behavior by employees or working conditions that could be unsafe.
